Photographs will attract more enquires, people buy pictures. Also private entries can add a photo for free.

I’ve got a photo on my computer. How do I add a photo of my vehicle?

To add a photograph from your computer, you can do this either

During stage 2 of placing your advert.

Or

From the members area at any time after you have placed the advert for your vehicle.

Here, simply click 'Add/Edit photgraphs' next to the vehicle you want to change a photo of, and on the 'edit vehicle details' page that appears, use the browse button to add or change an existing photo.

What size and format do photo’s need to be?

Photo file must be in jpeg format, not more than 500KB in size and of dimensions 640x480 pixels.

I don’t have a photo but have a camera. How do I add a photo of my vehicle?

This depends on whether you have a digital or non-digital camera. In either case, you need to get a photo of your vehicle onto a computer.

For Digital Cameras Your camera should be equipped with either software or leads/cables that allows you to transfer a picture of your vehicle on to a computer. You should refer to the instruction manual on how to do this.

For Non-Digital Cameras After getting your film processed, you need to scan the photo of your vehicle into your computer.

Once your picture is on your computer, simply follow these steps

1. Login to your account.
2. Click on Add/Edit photographs next to the your vehicle.
3. On the 'Edit Vehicle Details' page that appears, simply click the 'browse' button and locate the photo on your computer and then click 'upload'.

You should see your photo appear if you have done this correctly.

Can I improve the way my photo looks?

There are 3 things to make your photograph look good on IslandMotors.biz.

1. Selection: Choose photo’s that are bright and colourful, those in natural light and those in full view of your vehicle.
2. Enhancement: Using Image Enhancing Software such as Adobe PhotoShop, simple things like brightness, contrast, hue and saturation can make a big difference to your photo.
3. Optimisation: Make sure you save your photograph as a .jpg file. Having a small file size of up to 500KB is important so that it loads quickly on our site. If you have a very large photo, it may take very long to download and visitors may get tired of waiting.

Finally the dimensions of your photo should not exceed 640x480 pixels otherwise distortion will occur.

How can I change my existing photo on islandmotors.biz?

To change a photo of your vehicle, simply follow these steps:

1. Login to your account.
2. Click on Add/Edit photographs next to the your vehicle.
3. On the 'Edit Vehicle Details' page that appears, simply click the 'browse' button to locate the photo on your computer and then click 'upload'.

You should see your photo if you have done this correctly.

How do I remove my photo from islandmotors.biz?

If you want to remove a photo altogether and not have one, you must contact us and we will do this for you. Otherwise, you cannot remove a photo once you have added one, you can only change it as mentioned before.

I uploaded my photo but it is still not visible. Why?

IslandMotors review all photographs uploaded by members. While we allow members the ability to upload their photographs, we reserve the right to remove/delete any photograph in violation of our terms. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope that you appreciate our efforts for protecting our members.

It is also possible you may have the wrong format (not jpeg) or it was far too big (size > 1MB) or that there was some other technical error/problem at the time of uploading the photograph. In this case we request that you try the same procedure once again.
